Captured, as so many are, in an internet prison appears to make a person see things in structures, people broken down into images and comments. Live shows are seen through camera screens or watched like Youtube footage. Jokes are harvested to be made into tweets or foundations for blog posts based on length and quality as if humor only means something if everyone gets to share it. If a joke falls in the woods does it make a mark like the stump in the middle of an lol? Does that sentence even make any sense?
Probably not, but regardless, there is freedom from our self-made captors in this city, this weekend and always, and one of those freedoms is dancing. Break the chains and escape to I Love This City, a beautiful menagerie of DJs and electronic acts that will be taking over the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View. There is something for everyone (who likes electronic music), as the lineup features the commercial takeover of artists like Tiesto and David Guetta, the smoked out beats of Araabmuzik, the sheer force of Feed Me, Datsik and Madeon along with many others, including James Murphy and Cut Chemist. The full lineup, along with other relevant information, can be found at http://ilovethiscityfestival.com/wp.
If you’re the type of person for whom spending two days living life in a glorious expression of bliss isn’t enough, why not spend two nights doing the same thing? After parties include, but certainly aren’t limited to, the following:

If you can’t make it to any of that, my advice is to get ahead of the next curve and head down to Milk Bar tomorrow to catch AlexanderSpit show you the future of Bay Area hip hop. Get free, everybody.
